I am mildly excited about the new blogs. According to the memo our first entry should describe the family.

Well, there is not much to say as I am writing this while repairs are being done. I am a single mother (my name is Elaine) and I have a daughter, Rachel (she is named after my ancestor Rachel Dawson who moved to Greymount in the old dimension and was one of the first sims to populate Apple Valley in the new dimension).

We will live with my relative, Elinor Dawson, in a flat above her florist shop. I am currently a Crossbreeder with SC Labs, but I may have to quit and find another job because my hours are not conducive to Rachel's school hours. Elinor has offered me a job with her shop. I would be arranging flowers while she helps the customers. I think I might like the change in pace, the work would be easy and I would still be involved in the environment. It would free up several hours for my own independant research and lobbying of the hood council for better decision making regarding our hood. However the pay is worse, much worse, than my current job.

*sigh* such decisions
